Web Work
I love working with web, as it's so immediate. There's no messing around with print runs or sets of proofs, you just change it and there it is. Of course, this has its own problems...
I always wanted to have my own website but although I did discuss the possibility of creating a spa news site in conjunction with the Spas Directory in 2002, it didn't materialise as I didn't have the know-how to be able to set the website up and get it hosted. I managed to master FrontPage (after a fashion) but the project was abandoned when I began full time work for GO-East.
Since then, I've been writing for web on and off, and have successfully undertaken some really great projects. I worked on the Cambridge Reiki Group site, and we came up with a really calming, soothing site that introduced people to the background of Reiki and how it all worked.
I've since written copy and sourced the images for another Reiki site in 2007, the client was delighted with the work and we will hopefully work together again in the future. This was part of a wider project which included webpages, articles for Relentlessly Positive, a leaflet and
a newspaper advert.
In 2006 my web knowledge really took off as I was not only writing for web but also publishing and creating pages for sites. I took on responsibility for the content of the news page and front page of the GO-East website, and finally managed to get my own site hosted so that Relentlessly Positive was born.
Since being freelance I hace written copy for a whole host of web clients as well as keeping up to date with social media - Linkedin, Twitter and Facebook.
